SIX MONTHS to crack!

#1
Ive got exactly 5 months to until I start my terminal leave and that'll be 23 years in the Andrew done! Am fully commuting and taking a lump sum of it to Vegas where I have always wanted to put 20k on RED on the roulette table! If i lose I still have 34k and £8500 a year pension but if i WIN!!!! Ive invited 40 of my mates onto the Victory for my leaving do and I will then announce that if they want to come they can and if I win I will pay for all of the flights home! I hope they dont all take me up on the offer or it could fleece a large chunk of my winnings but at least you will find out who are your mates! NOT the ones who are storming around flashing at me for not going on BLACK!!

Not being particularly au fait with roulette, I'd love to know why you say that friends would be "flashing at me for not going on BLACK!!", what you think the odds of winning are and how you much you are likely to win if you do.

Great idea so long as you already have a house and your family are well supported.

JJs post, while accurate, is not probably very helpful.

Sol, there are thirty-six numbers on a roulette table (and wheel), eighteen of which are Red, and eighteen of which are Black. (There are also eighteen of each Odd/Even and High/Low.) So you put £1 on Red, and if one of the Red numbers comes up, you get £2 back. There are actually 37 numbers on the table, and 37 or 38 numbers on the wheel - 0 and 00, which are Green. This means that the odds on Red coming up are slightly less than 2:1, which is how the casino is able to make money. As well as betting on the 50:50 options, you can also bet on single numbers or groups of adjacent numbers. Put £1 on a single number, and if it comes up, you get £36 back
