  2. Hi

5 crew off Sir Galahad, 2 off Sir Tristham, 32 Welsh Guardsmen, 4, Army Catering Corps, 2 Royal Engineers, 2 REME and 3 RAMC

    We will remember them
  3. Paul Henry Second Engineer Officer Sir Galahad, gave his lfe for his Junior Engineer, Only one BA in the Engine Control Room, gave it to the young lad and ordered him out, knowing that to do so would mean his death! worthy of a medal surely, but as he was a civvy.......

And all the other poor sods, Rest In Peace lads!
  4. We had some of the welsh guards on hecla, it was harrowing to say the least.

To the lads who lost their life RIP
  5. He was (quite rightly) awarded the George Cross

Although I presume you mean a VC, certainly worthy of it if he had been in the mob.

  6. Makes you think , rest in peace the lot of you , every one a hero .

Mr Henry was awarded the George Medal, not the George Cross. Civilians under military command can be awarded the VC but Mr Henry's actions and the circumstances didn't meet the requirements for a VC or GC. No second class treatment or snub that seems to be being suggested above.

    A very brave man.
