Sickness at Raleigh

CrazyLady80

Midshipman
It was all going so well until my Son contacted us to tell us he'd been sick [emoji20]he was sick on Sunday evening but felt ok afterwards and was back to the grind on Monday but vomited again Monday evening so he's been isolated for 48 hours. He's mentioned that he might be back tracked - does anyone know how likely it is that that'll happen? He's got drill on Thursday but he's going to miss the practice today & tomorrow so won't know any of it. I thought I might get a call home about it with him being 16 but I haven't. Sorry for the essay [emoji37]

bad glass of scrumpy id say he will be ok I'm sure he will be able to stroll along with rest of class just fine tell him to just copy lad in front and beside him

At risk of issuing platitudes, it's often the case that junior rings home, pours out his/her woes to a worried parent, feels whole lot better having 'drained-down' over poor Mum. Down goes the phone, crack-on.

If it were not against the Geneva Convention, I'd thump every recruit that does this.

Best bet is give Welfare a ring, they'll be able to point you in the right direction: 02392 728777

Hope all's OK :)

I'd be surprised if a couple of days off for D&V would be enough to warrant being back-classed, but I suppose it depends on what he's missed. I suspect Ninja is right and now that he's better he's too busy to stop his Mum worrying.
Should you get no joy from the number Ninja has given you then if you PM his details (name, class) and I'll see if I can't get somebody from his divisional staff to contact you when I get in tomorrow.

He's being back classed, I've just spoken to him [emoji20]He's missed too many red sections (if that's the right phrase) so he'll never catch up now. He has to join the new class on Sunday. Thank you though [emoji4]

I guess many of us may view the concept of being back-classed in a negative angle, but in reality, the option is quit or crack-on.

Most are smart enough to crack-on.

Yup, I got back classed during phase 2 training for falling ill (got sent home in the end) but as you say, it's either that or quit. I passed out 3 weeks later than planned, but still finished the course!

All depends what week he is in, D&V has been here quite a bit recently so a few have had it.

If he misses red blocks in the week he is likely to get backclassed, unless he has prior forces experience.
