Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. "A British soldier has died in hospital in the UK, three days after being shot in Afghanistan's Helmand Province."

RIP. I suppose at least he made it back to the UK and his family were with him when he died.
  2. RIP lad!

Thoughts with family, friends and colleagues
  3. More saddening news, my sincere condolences to his family and comrades in arms.
  4. Very sad news. RIP Brave Soldier.
  5. RIP

    It's a waste.
  6. RIP to this Officer, and condolences to his family. Also to the four who were accorded the appropriate marks of respect by the good townspeople of Wootton Basset (again) today.

  7. I've posted this before it says all I can say:

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.
  8. I love that poem, I find it very moving.
