Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Despite the fact we all know the Daily Snail is a rubbish newsrag..... The level of rubbish reporting always continues to amaze me.

  2. HMS Tireless, which entered service in 1984, suffered damage to its circuits earlier this year resulting in a radioactive leak.

The nuclear sub was patrolling off South-West England when the problem arose, forcing its captain to return to Devonport. A more serious leak was avoided because of swift remedial action
This sounds like nobody was trained? Tiresome oldest 'T'?

  3. It's the Mail, sais it all!!

  4. Yup, she's the oldest one still running.

The Daily Mail and John Large are to accurate journalism what Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were to outward-bound themed childcare.

  9. Cheers Wits, I was being polite :)

  10. So as an applicant in the Marine Engineering role on boats is this good or bad news?

Can I look forward too more things to fix, or almost certain death?

  11. You'll certainly die but that's common to all life forms.

  12. As for as I know - not being able to get Sky Sports 1 on the grey things is a Category A1 Opdef sea-stopping-son-of-a-bitch much the same as a duff tumble drier, or lack of fresh milk, or it's too rough, or it's foggy yah-yah-yah-yakkity-yak.

I glow in the dark and digital radios explode when I walk past 'em.

Uranium 235? Pah!!!!!! I ate it for breakfast, dinner and tea.

    Scram! Scram! Scram!

  13. And all that from the hours spent manning the porn locker in the shack ;)

  14. All spare hands to the RC shifting lead!

  16. I bet you never shifted lead, poly blocks maybe but definitely not lead.

  17. Doesn't matter what it is, the pot is a f***ing awful place to be sweating your tits off! I avoid back aft and the RSC like the plague

  18. As an ex-primary EA, the best bit about working down the RC is everyone leaves you alone to get on with it (and you get to wear a silly costume).
