Well, I don't know...... my number was L/SFX893*** and I took the King's shilling in January 1952. (Still on Pt.I training - just started rifle drill - when the Chief G.I. comes out and says "Right, you lot might be lining the route for the King's funeral" That was good for a laff - at that stage we hardly knew which was the sharp end of the old Lee-Enfield.
D117 Ganges 19 Recruitment - 1970 - over the mast before breakfast and all that good stuff, doubling round the parade ground with boots on the wrong feet and gas masks on - happy days. :)
