Raleigh '71 - the rest is a bit of a blur, I remember being bloody hot, then bloody cold, next thing I knew I was in the Fire brigade - still not sure what I was drinking!

I'd bite, but posting my docs would make me really identifiable. However:

Jul 08 - Raleigh
Feb 09 - Nelson

Cram in a through deck cruiser and a dogwatch writer with a sense of humour rooted in 70's diesel weasels and it might be pretty obvious who I am.
My old man was a diesel weasel - the only *true* submarine we've operated. :p

I was on INVINCIBLE 92 - 93 for the Adriatic deployment, spent a bit of my time on the bridge, especially when entering harbour!!

6D2 mess (with the WEMs)
SJRM, I left Invince Feb 93 to commence CT course, didn't do an Adriatic trip, 92 was of course Orient 92, great deployment. I was in 6GSO, just above the booties and the you know what!!!

My naval career very similar Gombear :
1970 HMS Raleigh
RP Basics HMS Dryad 1970, October 1970 join HMS Aurora on Bira Patrol.
1972 back to Dryad for RP2s. 1973 HMS Chawton on fishery patrol.
1974 HMS Nelson. 4 years and some fantastic memories QUOTE=Gombear;931163]Took a career break from civvy street for some adventure

1972 Raleigh
1973 Dryad
1973 Apollo
1974 Lowestoft
1975 Dryad
1976 Nelson and out (resume civvy career)

Only four years, not much compared to most of you crustaceans, but an amazing experience nonetheless!

Awful lot of skimmers in here. Don’t you feel embarrassed or inadequate about not being able to add a “boats” name next to you service ?? Hehehe
