Sending a parcel. HMS Raleigh

Hi. My Son is 1 week in at HMS raleigh and he's mentioned that we can send parcels. He's misplaced a few bits from his kit list so I'd like to send him more but I was wondering what else would be useful and can I send him things like crisps & chocolate? [emoji4]

The short answer is yes, but there is a shop on the establishment where he can buy chocs and sweets. Buying and eating as required is better, as it avoids having to find somewhere to store food during a kit/mess deck inspection.

I'd be careful in case they flog him or keel haul him. Play safe and send me your sweets for safe keeping.

Seriously though, they advise you do not to send food. There is a Spar shop for sweets & we do give them meals.

Kit-wise, the Spar usually sell mostly sells stuff they need. If you do send stuff, keep it minimal.

Food parcels are no longer accepted in Raleigh (or BRNC, probably elsewhere).

As stated, nutty, crisps etc can be bought onsite, and just for interest, the shop is now Costcutter.

People get parcels here all the time, mostly just sweets and crisps as the shop on site is very expensive. There is also a nutty locker you can out your things in

You can get most things you need for kit at the shop, so just wait until they need something important.

Name, number and Division and then the Raleigh address. The first 3 are needed so they can let him know he's got a parcel in the mail office.
