Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Well as the title says i just passed my selection interview for warfare specialist (submariner) and have been given a 14 month wait. Firstly i would just thank (most) of the people on the site who refrained from taking the piss and helped with some of my other questions. Especially Ninja. Now i just have a few quick questions. Any help is appreciated.

    1. The warrent officer who done my interview told me when i asked, that if i worked hard a commision to warfare officer was possible. Just how realistic are my chances and will i need to study to improve my grades before i can be considered ?

    2. Special submariner pay ? I know its currently arround 12 pound per day but all i could find was that it is awarded " to all qualifing submariners" does this mean you recieve it as soon as you start basic training or is only awarded once you have your dolphins ?

Any help would be great. Thanks guys
  2. Can only answer in part to question one. Improving on your education standards is never time wasted. I would also suggest learning a foreign language, being on boats you'll have ample time to study and further your career. Little acorns etc. best of luck
  3. Submarine pay is only received on being awarded your dolphins.
