Seeing as there is no Wardroom Forum.... (Amend 1)

Isn't fora plural of forum as stadia are the plural of stadiums?

Fora is indeed plural of forum but stadia is the plural of stadium just as agenda is the plural of agendum and addenda is the plural of addendum. However we must be careful as two old women called Sara would be called Sara in the singular and not Old Sarum! ;)

Maybe a Malibu and Moosemilk then. With an umbrella in naturally. Most exotic.

Now I know you're a guppy, one does not imbibe Moosemilk with an umbrella.

40oz Lambs Dark Rum
40oz Kahlua
40oz Vodka
4L Vanilla Ice Cream (the good creamy expensive kind)
4L eggnog

Mix all together, breaking up the ice cream a bit. Sprinkle nutmeg on top if you so desire. Stir occasionally as the ice cream starts to melt.

It's good but it's no Jap Slipper;

1 part Midori Melon
1 part Cointreau
1 part lime juice
Crushed Ice

Stir and serve.

Remember kids, coctails are like breasts! Three is too many, but one is not enough. :relax:

I'm in the strange position of finding myself agreeing with Lamri, not about the quality of the young lady's rear end, but about the need for a Wardroom Forum. I've lived and worked in all of the messes and based on experience, there is already enough seggregation.; you don't need a separate forum. Far better to exchange views and generally take the piss as one big group.

To be honest there has been nothing I have seen on this site that would have been better placed in a wardroom, chiefs mess, POs mess etc, though there are a few subcribers who might be better confined to a paint locker, but that is really a different problem.

When you've finished rounds would you please release me from this paint locker :whew:

As an outsider, so to speak ...

The Officers' Thread on ARRSE probably has more justification because of the scale of the operation. It at least allows those with no interest in the subject [apart from idle curiousity] to look elsewhere for titillation ;-)

Do you need it here? Probably not. RR seems to chat quite happily across the "rank divide". And the "Dapper Clothing" thread on ARRSE is generally ignored by everyone except those with a penchant for poncing about in over-priced civvy gear to impress fellow subalterns of the better Regiments :)

BTW, none of my Dictionaries [COED or a pre-war copy of the British Encyclopaedia] give a plural for forum. I'd boldly suggest it might be forae.

But then we'd have to call contributors foraes - and that just not pleasant, it might upset the visually challenged

Right two things.

Moose Milk - Never make it when drunk and mix everything in, drop in the still frozen ice cream and then have to shave off slices and push them in the glass when serving to the CO (As one ex HMO and SCO of HMS ALBION did). It is fraught with danger not least of having two OsOW handling sharp blades when under the influence.

Wardroom etc forums. My main thrust was there is no General Forum for matters that do not quite cover the ones we have. A sort of Standeasy Forum, for general stuff - like discussing the new changes to Middies commissioning, clothing issues etc. Stuff that is across Fleet/Subs/RM etc. Also outside of the Diamond Lils ie for serious/less serious discussion but not for rude language and general cyber slagging.

A sort of putting the world to rights dit session gen buzz that the Middle Watch on the Bridge is all about. OOW, QM, BM and Yeoman all chatting about general stuff.

And to the misdirected fool who seems to think Liverpool is in any way a great football team - I pity you.

And far as Dapper Clothing - we all know officers wear chinos, blue shirts and blazers unless they are cleaning the car when jeans are acceptable ;-)

Worryingly I am now disagreeing with my own idea. There is hope for me as a Flag Officer.

Changes to Middies commissioning - Newbies Forum.
Across the fleet stuff - Erm, FLEET Forum, perchance?

We have it all here. You just need to put posts in the right place ;)

There is no hope of you making Flag ... you have listened to others :thumright:

At least, that's how it worked in the Crabs ...

However, a Wardroom Thread could discuss the best sort of Port [liquid variety], what to wear ashore, and how to hide from Jack at 0001 when you're OOW [I remember being taught that at BRNC].

Have you been reading my OJARS?????? If I am honest the only way I would make Flag would be a very big accident, at the same time and involving both Northwood and Whale Island. A sort of Gold Lace cull.

Most of the OOW's during the middle watch's i did were there because they were under W/R puns for upsetting the Jimmy or Navs, and if not asleep in the CO's chair they were dripping about how hard a life it was as a two ringer. :evil4:

Being a passed over two ringer was my ambition in life, then some stupid bu**er (sorry sir!) went & gave me another half stripe. Do these people not realise striping up Nos 1's & mess kit is at least the cost of a case of cooking port!!!!
