Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. i passed my fitness test today and just wondered if anybody knows an average length of time it takes for the security clearance to come through as that is all i am now waiting for, ohh and the CRB
  2. BTS

For straightforward cases, roughly 6-8 weeks.
  3. I have had lots of CRBS it can hold it up taking upto 3 months if you have moved alot or its your first one. You can trace them online from their website just be aware taht it is a blessing and a curse as the last part takes the longest and you may find youself becoming obsessed with chiecking. Not sure why you need CRB if your being security checked surely any issues would come up there?
  4. yeh if you've only lived at say one or two addresses then it will pass quite quickly, i have a very varied past traveling and working abroad with many addresses,
i've been told that mine will sadly take 3-4months.
  5. im british but live abroad and my SC is now ongoing for 6 Months and ive been told to expect to wait another 3 months at least... good luck to you.
  6. The CRB has a different legal status than the vetting status, and is required in some specialisations and branches; medics and chaplains are the ones that spring to mind.

Hmmn, not sure how best to answer that one...
  11. yes, i am going MA (sm) so i have been told i need one
  12. Strong denial and moving the guilty I mean candidate for a bit of Counselling, about a lot works for the RCs.
  13. I did not know you could get protestant Priests or any other kind of Priests for that matter :D :D Sorry but I could not resist:D

  14. Everydays a schoolday for you then as you can get Anglican Priests in the 'High' Church of England who are addressed as Father rather than Reverand as per the rest of CoE.
Next time try resisting a little harder or do some research you twunt.

Yep, the other issue for medics is that they must have no convictions for dishonesty, spent or unspent.

Presumably to prevent the: "Morphine? What Morphine, dude?" scenario.
