Seaman Specialist Recruit Information

Hello all,

As we all know covid restrictions has hindered the recruitment process, especially for those joining the warfare branch.

As it's mainly logistics and engineering recruits at Raleigh, I created this thread for anyone who has new information (warfare) regarding those waiting for a start date in the unstructured year of 2021.

I have extensively pestered AFCO and achieved the same answer of "Phase 2 is not open yet".

I hope this thread yeilds some use to those eager to go to Raleigh like myself.

Kind regards.

Mmm an interesting and inspiring Call Sign...

<...The Enbarr (Énbarr) or Aonbharr of Manannán (Irish: Aonbharr Mhanannáin) is a horse in the Irish Mythological Cycle which could traverse both land and sea, and was swifter than wind-speed.

The horse was the property of the sea-god Manannan mac Lir, but provided to Lugh Lamh-fada (Irish: Luġ Lámhfhada) to use at his disposal. In the story Oidheadh Chloinne Tuireann ("The Fate of the Children of Tuireann"), Lugh refused to lend it to the sons of Tuireann, but was then forced to lend the self-navigating boat Sguaba Tuinne (Wave-sweeper) instead...>>

Other than that - Keep yourself & the NHS Safe, enjoy the wait but investigate your alternatives too. (Plan B, C etc.)

That is all.

No sure where you are getting your information from. You couldn't be more wrong on all accounts.

Phase 2 is most definitely not shut. If you have a look at the joining up thread you will see various branches still joining.

I understand this hence the quotation of what my PO told me.
I created this thread for when any of the recruits for the Seaman Specialist role hear any advancements towards a start date.

Aye I did my telephone interview a fair few months ago.

Main subjects that was covered;

Knowledge of where you will be training and how long for (both phase 1 and 2).

Quite a few extensive questions on your home situation.

Any extra curricular activities for example sports teams or student unions.

From my experience the interview was nice and relaxed due to my PO being friendly but professional in extracting the information he needed.

Hope this helps.

30% increase in applications. Collingwood now taking phase 1 training. Raleigh nearly at capacity. Dartmouth also taking on phase 1. Is that elaborated enough for you.
I understand this but if you read my original post it says covid restrictions have hindered recruitment "process"
For example:

Waiting times for face to face medical.

Fitness test delayed due to gyms being closed.

We did read your post and there are some errors in it.

Covid is affecting all recruiting and not just warfare branches.
Some of the posters here have a lot of experience of the situation at Raleigh and pt1 training.

Thank you for correcting one of my points. Some online resources can be quite unreliable but I'm afraid that's all I have use currently.
This thread was for those specifically applying for Seaman Specialist branch as I thought it could be helpful to converse about current affairs.

To be helpful you need to make sure that the information is correct otherwise others may take what you say as true and then it gets further twisted.

People on here have a lot of experience in what you are talking about and may be a good source of advice.

Maybe you should get off your tall horse and be a little more conciliatory, if you've bothered to take a look at the forum as a whole you would've seen that any members will at any time comment, some of it will be extremely helpful, some of it might be tongue in cheek and if you set the wrong tone with your post you will cop some flak, lower deck lawyer in the making??
