Reality Show. "Its Day 54 in the Big Navy Boat, Somewhere beneath an Ocean in the World....CPO Smitty has just launched the Captain out of the torpedo tube"....

The ships company are questioning if Rumrat knows anything about the valves he's opened.
They have never before seen so much water used to scrub out the heads. 8O

HMS Agamemnons - S123

I can hardly spell that let alone pronounce it. Agamemnons...

Agamemnon is indeed the right way of spelling it.

In answer to your question, none mate I was merely being witty.. Its only the former shipyard workers in my family that have been on submarines out of my lot when they were at Lairds. Looking forward to getting to Raleigh and then getting onto Submarines though. Been my ambition since I was first taken around Lairds by my Great Grandfather.

Was fortunate enough as a kid to see Unicorn and Ursula launched though

Ah right, so you're a civilian and you've never been in the Royal Navy? When is your start date?

SC,

Ask him (without having to look at his watch) How long it's been since HE was a civilian.

Just for completeness, and for the spotters out there - Astutes ordered/named so far:

AMBUSH
ASTUTE
ARTFUL
AUDACIOUS
AJAX
AGAMEMNON
ANSON

leaving a vacancy for the 8th, which, presumably, they'll have to build to keep the Barrow cycle going long enoug to start on the SSBNs, so ARK it should be then, or ANDOVER....

I know, and AJAX lives under the sink - I'm writing an outraged letter to the Ships' Naming Committee as we speak.

And if you're going to have an ANSON, then you ought to have a LEOPARD

Agreed, and Leather has had me in stitches with some of his posts elsewhere and I really dislike getting drawn into arguments like this. :)

I wasn't attacking you, and I don't know why people are thinking I have. Some people need to wind their fuckin necks in

Good luck for when you start, theirs loads of great benefits you won't really appreciate until you get past all the inital training stages. What branch are you going in by the way?

SC has probably done more time in a military uniform than Leather has.

No worries buddy. Going for ETWE (SM), just having hassle with the Army Personnel Centre over my Discharge Papers from when I was in the TA so everything is suddenly a lil uncertain as I cant get permission to process further without them

WE eh? Nice one :) my friends joined up as WE's the same time as me, and we are on the same boat now and they are really enjoying that branch. Some went TWS and the others went SWS. Quite a long WE course however in Collingwood I believe, followed by another course specialising in TWS or SWS. So even after doing SMQ Dry before joining the boat some of them were off on another 18 weeks course. Threaders.
