Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. A favour please. I've been asked to help a French artist (I know - they smell funny and they keep surrendering, but a little help would be handy).

He's contacted me via my Falklands pages, and he's been commissioned to produce some artwork for the missile manufacturer MBDA, namely the Wasp attack on Santa Fe using AS12 missiles. I know that Plymouth's and Antrim's helos were involved, but it was Endurance's Wasp who did the dirty on the boat.

A rough draft of his artwork is shown below.
He is looking for photos of the general scene to help with colour, and markings on the wasp.

    Hope you can help.

ps. Cross posted to several other sites.
  2. Have you seen this information on the Fleet Air Arm Museum website, particularly the bit about camouflage paint?
It might be worth following up.
