I sent them an email yesterday but I have dealt with them before and it usually takes a couple of weeks to respond. I will post back here if/when I hear from them.

Hi,
I can't help you with details about John Graham's profession or HMS San Joseph.

I think James Graham was born 13.9.1845 after his father's death.

After John Graham's death his wife, Elizabeth Ann Sedgeman, I believe was remarried to Samuel Thomas Graves on 10.6.1847. I think the above James Graham was then called "James Graves" in further census.

My search follows the "Graves" family.

19 Apr 1841 a court-martial took place on board the San Josef, at Plymouth, on Lieutenant Bastard James and the officers and crew, for the loss of the packet Spey.

An unfortunate name for the nice young Lieutenant of the Packet Spey
