Run time for fitness test

T5igger

Lantern Swinger
Hey guys,
Can anyone shed some light on the fitness times for a 19 year old female.

The website says:

Time to aim for:
11 mins 35 secs

Satisfactory time:
13 mins 02 secs

Minimum pass time:
14 mins 29 secs

I was always told it was 13 minutes, not 14 mins 29?

I'm aiming to get my run time down to around 12 minutes but I'm currently running 2.4km in 14 minutes... my test is in two weeks.

Would I then pass if I ran it in 14 mins?

Thanks!

Yeah it says you get an extra 10% on the website but when I asked a couple of the lads in the careers office they said the times are exactly the same as your PJFT

For your pjft you'll fail, but at prnc you'll be given the extra 10%, but if you don't make the run in under 13m you'll be noted down as a fail, but you can still pass the course... At Raleigh your expected to pass under 13m but are given the extra time, if you use up the extra time you'll be watched by the staff and have to give up vital time to do extra fitness which may result in you falling behind... If you do not complete it in under 13m you'll have to attempt if again on week 5 I believe...

Also worth noting that your 1.5 mile run at Raleigh won't be the only 'running' you'll do. Camp sprints are a part of weekly (sometimes double) IMF and there isn't just 1 camp sprint per session. Get as fit as you possibly can before you arrive.

The Royal Navy website is a tad messed up in regards to 2.4km run times. This is what it says for a 35-39 year old male.
Time to aim for: 10 mins 32 secs

Satisfactory time: 13 mins 51 secs

Minimum pass time: 13 mins 10 secs

So the minimum pass time is less that a satisfactory time, which I would take as a pass if something if satisfactory.
There are quite a few people getting confused by the site at the moment so I would just stick to what the AFCO tell you or aim for 10.30 and you will be fine!
