Took in a drive to the West Wight yesterday - a pleasant day with good visibility. I took these pictures of the Isle of Wight's south-west coast - known as the Back of the Wight - from near Blackgang. Apart from the eroded coastline, the chalk cliffs near Freshwater Bay are visible in both of the first two. The first pic also shows the hills of Dorset centre left.
The third picture - apologies for the very poor quality as it was taken at maximum zoom on the Galaxy A12 phone camera - also shows the Dorset coast. Interestingly for me, it also shows the silhouette of the Isle of Portland apparently to the left of the headland which I assume to be St Aldhelm's. Portland is actually a lot further away than St Aldhelm's - I reckon it's the best part of 50 miles from where I took the picture.
