Royal Marine charged with murder

A Royal Marine has been charged with the murder of a Navy technician after a fight at a Hampshire bar.

Kyle Bartlett, a marine engineering technician, 21, was injured in the Walkabout bar in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth, on Tuesday night.

He died the next day in hospital. Post-mortem tests showed he had died as a result of head injuries.

Ben Scott, 21, of Revenge Close, Southsea, will appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court later.

He has been remanded in custody.

Two other Royal Marines, both 21-year-old men, are being questioned by detectives.

Two others, aged 22 and 26, were also arrested but were later released without charge.
