Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Im thinking of joining the RN but theres a big waiting list for the job I would like to apply for which is the seaman specialist and was wondering if I joined the RNR, after training I can select what branch I would like to do.
So say if I wanted to select the pilot training for the Merlin helicopters is that possible?

  2. Seaman Spec or Merlin Pilot? :?

    No you've lost me?

  3. Yes of course you can be anything you want!!!!!!!!!

  7. Sorry about the confusion but its hard to put into words but heres attempt 2.
I would love to be a Pilot but I can only pass the RN test to be a Seaman specialist.
So im thinking If I joined the RNR can I train to be a Pilot after the training process?

  8. The RNR offer no scheme for pilot training, in order to join as aircrew you have to be previously qualified.
