RN Pay

£950 is what we received after deductions from day 1. Once you pass out of Raleigh it bumps up to £1100 after deductions because you do not get charged for food in phase 2!

You don't get charged but you still have to pay with PAYD, it's not free.

Confused, it says from DAY 1 (is that the start of training at Raleigh?) pay is £14,784 a year, and 26 weeks later its £18,000 a year.

Surely if the first pay is only for 26 weeks, it should say Day 1 (first 26 weeks)?
It's a time if all goes well, if you get back classes etc, it may be longer than 26 weeks, also don't try and read any logic into naval pay, it don't work.

@JamesBlackadder I think you're being a tad pedantic. I have just looked at the link and it is quite clear what the pay will be when you join the RN for training giving both the annual equivalent amount plus the weekly and monthly rate for those lacking a calculator . At the 26 week stage it should increase to £18 grand per year. I can't see what there is to not understand.

I thought that he was applying for the RFA, why do RN pay scales matter to him? Also at 44 is he not passed the new entry standard for the RN?

Sssshhhh.......Keep it down a bit. You know what HMRC are like about "benefits in kind". Company car or free socks I can see very little difference;)

Ah but when you put a pair of matching Cars through a Washing Machine TWO always come out nice 'n clean

Pair of Socks? After altering the hue of anything not dark in the washload only ONE sock ever emerges...
