Can anyFile0403.JPGone please identify what these disabled RN officers are making. The man in the middle is my Grandfather who was a an ex RAF safety equipment specialist. Could they be parachutes?

The Lieutenant standing looks like he's holding an early form of lifejacket, maybe they made more than one type of equipment?

Thank you all. Just for the record it could have been RAF Manston or Locking when I check his latter UK postings

The two officers at the extremes look like they have balanced their caps of some kind of pack. I took this to be a parachute pack.

Looking closely all RN Officers pictured appear to have "wings" above their gold stripes on their jacket cuffs - possible link to the theory of parachutes being pictured?
