RN crossing over. Anyone help?

Hi
Im currently serving in the RN and have been for nearly 10 years. But ive got bored with it, the interest has almost gone and there isnt a challenge anymore. Ive been looking into doing the All Arms Course for quite sometime now but no-one seems to know how to apply and get on one, and what sort of stuff i need to know. Ultimately im going to attempt the SC branch but i would like to have a go at the AACC as a taster to see if i like it. Any help at all would be much appriacatied.
Ive already shown an interest and received an information pack from RM Poole on SC training but still it doesnt say anything about the all arms course
Thanks fellas

Have a look at DCI's mate (or whatever they are called these days)
You will find course dates and pre-requisites etc there

Sorry its not much help but its a place to start :)

BTW

Good luck!

Thanks for the advise. Perhaps a came across wrong. Its not to see if i like the lifestyle, i meant to say, i dont want to go down the route of applying to join the special forces then go and spoon it at the first hurdle. I know i would have to complete the course prior to selection but i would like to do it a little before so all i have to worry about is selection itself. If that makes sense. By the way im coming up to 28 in March. 32 is the dead line for SF. Realistically I would attempt selection in Jan 2008.

I don't know if this would be possible for you, but if there are any near you, why not see if the local RMR detachment's holding troop would let you train with them?

It would be mostly outside of work hours, and would give you a few valuable pointers if you are planning on trying the AACC.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the rely mate, ive been through the DCI's, cant find a thing. Ive got the DCI for the Special Forces but cant seem to get one on AACC.

Absolute bollox mate. If you spend 5 mins on the DIN webpage, you WILL find it.

If I had someone in my division come up to me saying they wanted to try out for SF and said they couldn't find the info, I'd send them away and tell them to find it.

I understand that mate, ive got all the information i need on joining the SF, from DCI's and from RM Poole SF recrutement too. Its just i cant find anything in the all arms course.
As for the All arms being mandatory. It is, you get loaded onto one in Oct for Jan selection and then March for the July selection.

Have you thought of that there recon regiment thing?
Its SF and doesn't mean that you have to leave and rejoin etc

Hi mate, yeah, ive explored all possibilities but there is only really 2 choices for me within the SF. I chose the Marine route as id love to work in or around water and some stage in my career. Although you'll have to admit, the Marines are doing a cracking job in afgan with what they have to fight with!!!

If you could point me in the direction of the DCI, that would be great. Also, what is the DIN?

DIN (Defence Information Notice) is the new name for DCIs

Oh right.
Where the hell do you find that? As im based at an RAF base i find it a little hard to get hold of general service stuff
