  1. Hi all,

I'm thinking of joining the RMR in London and was wondering about eyesight requirements. I cant seem to find anything specific so thought I would try here.

Here you go. This info was posted on a thread called 'Weak Eyes'. To search the site go to the top of the page there is a link HELP,click on it and you will find a search page. If you use this it may prevent you getting frivolous replies as RR members soon tire of laziness. Good luck with your application

To be a marine you need to be Standard 3 or better.

    Standard 3
Visual acuity to be achieved without correcting lenses is 6/60 Right & <6/60 Left.
Visual acuity to be achieved with correcting lenses is Either 6/6 N5 Right, 6/24 NIO Left, OR 6/9 N5 Right, 6/18 NIO Left, OR 6/12 N5 Right 6/12 NIO Left.
Spectacle correction (in any meridian) +/- 6.00 sphere or cylinder both.

Be aware if you're standard 3 there will be certain RM sub-specialisations which you will not be able to do.
  4. Thanks for the replies and advice, I didn't realise the search option and now i see numerous "eyesight" threads, so apologies for opening a new one. Thanks again.
  5. We'll let you off this time mate ;)
