Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. He passed away today aged 81. 100 Days was one of two things that inspired me to join the RN - I shall be re-reading it pretty soon!
  2. A great naval man and an inspiration to many RIP :salute:
  3. RIP.

He may be one of the last combat task group commanders.
  4. A fine task grout commander and gentleman

A great leader at the right time, in the right job, in the right place.

One would sincerely hope he is afforded the respect of a ceremonial funeral.

    Rest in Peace.

  14. RIP Sir, give Douglas Bader and Guy Gibson a kidney punch from me.
  15. Great man great leader, at least he got the recognition he deserved, not quite so for Commodore Jamie Miller, equally brilliant with a memory of an elephant it was just the wrong war and maybe he upset a few too many of the shiney arses back home.
