At last, a memorial to the forgotten heroes of Britain’s 'Pearl Harbour’ - Telegraph
I'm raising a glass to James Wren, and to 89 year old Maurice Pink, and their surviving comrades, and to all the good men, and boys, that were lost in that terrible action. Spare a thought for those like Maurice's mum, who received two telegrams from Admiralty on the same day at Christmas 1941, one to say that Maurice, of Repulse, was missing believed killed, the other that his brother Sam had been killed when Barham was torpedoed in the Med in November. Maurice survived, but his brother did not.
The memorial is much deserved.
