Tell you what Maxi, I will buy you a pint, since you feel down about being an officer, maybe we could start a support an officer day ? or even a thread about officers renting a friend !!!!!!!!!!

comrade! We could adopt one for a day! We could take our officer into our lives and they can have a go at stuff like, polishing their own shoes or not shouting "wizard" when they get over excited reading "get orf my land" or "Is uckers like polo"!

I appreciate there have been Naval officers who have been "wizard". Admiral Byng for a start.

Get orf my land... In a floaty boaty thing? Eh? Too much beer again Sweeney!

That sounds potentialy even better than RB's offer of a pint, spiffing.

Hey AaC, Leave my business partner alone, we have just set up a business , giving officers the finer out look on life, with or with out the wardroom, What do you reckon Sweeney, It would be very hard work, trying to show them how to live life like a human being, but worth it !

Sweeney - lovely - I haven't met an officer who hasn't bulled his own shoes (maybe when you eventually become a CO of a FF or bigger its a nice privilege) or who cant play a mean game of uckers, although not all may be savvy with WAFU's rules! As for "Wizard" never heard that one. The annoying one now is 'sweet' and it isn't limited to officers! 'Sweet Britannia', not got quite the same chill factor somehow LOL

Maybe wizard went out with good-oh comrade? Sweet is wrong. Clearly me and Rugger have our work cut out... I will be serving salmon en croute out of a clog whilst ranting about communism* and rugger will be taking care of everything else.

I'm not sure we can even begin to get this sorted. Its possibly too big a job. A plastic commie and a single parent sorting the admiralty???

*thats my view that may or may not have anything to do with actual communism.

Well its been made very clear to me that my views on the RNR are in a minority of 1. Seeing as the RNA branch have made it clear to me that I clearly know nothing about ratings or anything about the navy, it is clear that I have nothing useful to contribute to this site.

I'm going to leave now, delete my userID and never darken your doors again.

I think you may have a diagnosable mental health problem. It's really sad to see somone who is so unhappy and so unable to get on with others in any walk of life. Being this unhappy usually leads to hurting yourself or others. I think getting out may be a good idea before you start taking it out on those around you. Go and find something that you do enjoy...life is too short!

There's an article on departure on Meatball Wiki which is quite good.

Departure in response to conflict
At the height of a conflict, you will often see a participant dramatically exercise their RightToLeave with a goodbye message. This isn't simply a notice that the person is leaving before they slip away, it's a magnum opus of anger directed back at TheCollective. However, they are not going to leave. Even if their original intent was to leave in anger, it's not satisfying to go from such an emotional high to an immediate vacuum. Because we can lurk online, the person is going to come back to see the reaction of the community. It's just so tempting.

Going off and starting your own newsgroup where you are the only moderator, so that you have total control, is another extreme symptom.

Usually you find that you are the only one on it, though....
