A month old but I think RR's normally reliable news gatherer had a well deserved day off. I haven't yet had the opportunity to read it so I'm not commenting.

  2. Does anyone know what happened to the MARS project?
  3. It's still going ahead ... 5 ships in total - and the money's aready put aside for it too.
  4. Awesome, - are they any links you know for any further information?
  5. the latest so far is that the MARS project has 5 bidders whose proposals should be in by Feb. MOD and ministerial approval done by October, then the successful bidder will have the contract by early 2012, design that will take 18 months, just to make sure that all the equipment is placed in the most awkward position to maintain with the first keel laid in Nov 2013 with first ship in service in 2016. so it doesn't look to bad for the RFA. i just think it's a shame to get rid of the Largs Bay when they should use that to replace the Diligence which to be honest has had its day
  6. Many thanks for the update, - glad it hasn't died a death! Let's hope they get the right quantity of hulls for that date.
