RFA Deck Hand?

Hello,

i'm not sure if this thread is still active but its worth a try anyway. I'm currently 16 and interested in a career in the Merchant. Sadly not many company's are willing to take on at 16 and the rfa seems to be the only choice i'm left with. I have recently filled out an online form to show my interest and today received a call from someone telling my i'm being sent an application form. I was wondering if anyone had any info on what i should include in the application, and if anyone has any tips for the future. Thanks for your time, Ben.

Wait until you get the application and see what the questions are first.

As Wrecks says, wait for the application pack to arrive. In the meantime search for SG2 or seaman grade 2 on here rather than deck hand to gain more info.

Hello,
New to this. Very keen to serve my country, am too old for RN (38), so am looking to join the RFA and I've applied. Does anyone have any advice; I've opted to join as a Deckhand. I have A-Levels, but not GCSE Maths. As I'm out of work at the moment, I can put this right with courses the Job Centre run, but would becoming an Officer be out of the question - I'm particularly interested in Navigation.
