  1. Hi!

I have recently just left school and applied for the RFA as a communications apprentice.
I have my psychometric test on the 28th of this month I am quite worried about this as I am not very academic and struggle with maths. I am hoping to get some advice on what to expect and how best to prepare for the day?

  2. Sounds obvious but try not to worry too much about it. I always struggled with maths too but just practice all the basics and you'll be fine. Go over all your multiplication tables and a few of the really simple calculations so that you know them off pat- it's the speed that's the key. Get through as many questions as you possibly can and if you really don't know it, skip it. Wrong answers will not get counted against you. Just make sure you try all the sample questions in the info pack- the guys at the AFCO will ask!!! For some extra practice pick up Psychometric Tests for Dummies for less than a tenner or find some YouTube videos.
Good luck and arrive in plenty time so you can have a breather!
