It's just that I am thinking of joining up and as I currently work in a school I was wondering how feasible it would be to carry on doing cover and supply work in local schools during my 3 month leave periods ??
As pointed out according to our rules you can work outside the RFA but you are supposed to ask and receive permission (via your appointer whilst on leave).
If there is no conflict of interest and it doesn't interfere with your availability to work for the RFA I cannot see them saying no (just my opinion though)
If you want to keep it above board I can't see HQ turning you down for that. I haven't heard of them turning anyone down, but nor have I heard of anyone bothering to ask, just a few suggestions of moonlighting at sea being frowned upon and the value of a certificate of discharge in place of a discharge book entry.
I may have asked this before (oops), but can one be a RFA officer and retain membership of the Army Reserve? Somewhat akin to the unposted list (asking for an friend)
