Reserve Officer Entry- Quick Query UCAS Points

Discussion in 'Joining Up - Royal Navy Recruiting' started by SuitablyVague, Sep 13, 2017.

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Afternoon all.

On the website it says that if you achieved your quals before (start of?) 2017 you need a higher number of UCAS points than those gained after the changeover date. The UCAS points system having been changed this year.

Are quals from before that date assessed by the previous UCAS point system or the new points level?

(Using the site on my pho e and it doesn't like the search function to much. Apologies in advance)
  2. The points are equivalent - 180 UCAS points under the old system is the same as 72 in the new system.

So it shouldn't matter, but if you already have A-levels, they'll be measured under the old system. If you have yet to get them, they'll be measured under the new system. If my understanding of the site is right.
  3. Makes a bit more sense than the description on the website aye
