So I take it you're quite experienced with the A18 series ? Where were you issued one ?

Out of interest why do you call this the "Tasmanian Devil" ?
Last time I looked Tas wasn't in NSW, or is it yet another of your invented names ?

No prizes for guessing who posted this.

I found out on the securityarms site, It was used in a shooting incident in Tasmania before they got banned on the civvie market, Thats where it got the 'Tasmanian Devil' nickname(Seriously, Im not making up names for stuff here).

The Steyr AUG A1 or the A3 - used by Germany's elite GSG-9, among others. Like the SA80, it's a ' bullpup ' but is considerably lighter and can even be converted into a submachine gun with the aid of a special conversion kit. It's said to be well liked by the soldiers who carry it...

No idea if it's been tested in arid desert climates, but the A3 in particular looks very robust.

Pick Helves are robust and have a reliability second to none, added bonus Pussers got Fawsands of 'em.
Get used to it the SA80 is the weapon those in the frontline will be using for the foreseeable future. HMG is not going to backtrack on this one, doubt if there is enough dosh in the coffers anyway.
Dreams are free Gutaway, so keep on dreaming, ya Walt.

The choice is....Gutaway with a SA80 (first issue one) or you with a fcuking big rock versus Gutaway. I'd choose the rock, when the first SA80s came out (remember the booties trialed them) there was no gaurd on the magazine release so Gutaway would of got all excited and whilst hugging his shiny new SA 80 he'd of released the magazine so there was no rounds in it...(he's a cadet, not aloud to walk around with a round up the spout saftey catch on)

So, Gutaway now has a lump of pressed steel and plastic that you can try and batter someone with whilst doing joey deacon impessions whilst you still have your trusty rock.

After about five minites of the joey impressions Gutaway will be fed up with hitting his shins and his arms will be knackered.........enter the rock to his temple.....

game over.
