I've got one, now I'm going to man up and be fairly stoic about it but, fcuksake it's a sodding great blister on my thumb caused by openning the screw top caps on the bottles of stubbies they have down here.

If I allowed myself to feel pain I'm sure it may hurt or even "twinge" a bit but thankfully I'm above all that, it does however cause me a bit of distress every 10 minutes or so when I need to open a new bottle, I've tried using my other hand but it's a bit like cracking one off with the wrong hand, you know what needs doing but your a touch spastic at doing it.

Any suggestions for opening bottles with the wrong hand greatly appreciated. On a purely medical side of life am I going to have to find some obscure pharmacy and purchase a bottle of iodine or whatever it was and paint the entire left hand side of my body orange to ward off Woodbury rash? Or does Woodbury rash not travel well?
  2. got a misses? Put her to use.............

Like I'm gonna share my beer, valentines weekend or not some things just aren't going to happen.
  4. Man up, take it on the chin............payback's a b*tch...............

    Just curious.

Is Valentine's Day a big thing in the Land of the Long White Cloud?

Not in this household mate, it's not as commercialised as in the UK but, we are living in the 70's. Some of the "international" shop brands have made an effort having a point of sale display with valentine cards and warm melting chocolates. On the whole it's nicely low key with no high pressure TV or radio ads to make you feel guilty for not doing anything.
  7. Thanks, WB, I thought it might be a bit less intense; it's pretty much reached saturation point in the UK.

    Re the bottles!!!

If I find a twist-off cap difficult to remove, I wrap a thickish rubber band around it, which gives a much solider grip.

Anyway, just get the blister lanced. (If you really have one, which I doubt!)

    Can you drink that?
  11. I feel your pain, that's why they put the sports questions on the bottom of the cap to take your mind off it. :D
But seriously, you'll be ripping into the missus Chardonay and be considering joining the local Amateur Dramatics Society, next if you continue with this whiney whinging.
    I suggest more self medication.
    I'll see you tomorrow Ops.
