Rear Admiral epaulette change?

You will note that Royal Family rank rings are slightly wider than the rest of the Navy. In the early 1900 changes to dress regs narrowed the bands. The King however, told the Navy to '**** Off' and hence till this day the Royal Household rank rings are wider. Gen dit.

Admirals' flags? Commodores' pennants?

Vice admirals have only got one ball.
Commodores have two but rather small.
Rear Admirals, though bigger, are similar,
Whilst full admirals have no balls at all.

And having worked through this ancient thread, it might also be pointed out (in pedantic mode) that FORY was Flag Officer Royal Yachts ( plural) rather than Flag Officer Royal Yacht.

All absolutely true...apart from that the Royal family stopped using the wider rings at the accession of the present Queen.

And yes; I know I'm sad.
