Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. If that had been jack driving it, they would have put it out quick, driven off as if nothing had happened then parked back onboard behind a convenient building, slapped paint on the burnt bits and then walked off denying everything.
  2. There are gonna be a lot of Civvy Firemen dining out on this dit in the future!

    On a Friday afternoon too!

One hopes the Diversity Champion wasn't polishing his trophy too briskly, causing the conflagration.

Ironic that the onboard skilled RAF firefighters weren't able to arrive at the scene a little sooner, but to be fair, it is a bit of a hike from the rear of the cab, s'pose.

When all's said and done, the label on the side does say "Fire Engine", so titter ye not, one mustn't mock. Ooh No. It's only following orders.

If only we had clean hands -

Once at Portland long ago the Fire Officer at the helicopter station decided to burn some old pallets. His fore got out of control and he rang the OOD in Osprey.

    brrr brrr brrr brrrr

    'Osprey, OOD?'

'Fire Officer here, fire in the fire station!'

'Pull the other one'. Slams phone down.

  5. Got a mate who's a crab firefighter. I resisted the urge to share this with him for all of 12 seconds.

  6. These vehicles are notoriously bad travellers and have to stop frequently to let their brakes cool down. we have had some near misses ourselves, funnily enough also on a Friday when trying to get back to go weekenders. That being said I'm very surprised the crabs were working on a Friday at all.
  7. Perhaps they were going to be late for the weekend coach.
  8. Same fire station!

The duty fire crew notice flames in the building next to them, (703 Squadron). They respond to find no fire!!!

When they look through the window at the fire station they observe the fire crews kitchen in flames.

What they had thought was the next building on fire was a reflection of their din dins on fire!!!!!

    Ya gotta larf!!!!!
