Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Hi all, new to the site but been looking through for quite a while now.

Quite a few guys from CU have been sent over to the RAF to carry out tours on the green merlins. Since they have gone all has gone pretty quiet about the subject?

Does anyone know if there are any further opportunities coming up to do a draft with the crabs? or the Army for that matter?

  2. Why not pop down to the careesr advisors(rdca) down at the upo_Only know of jobs to Army with the lynx which is for LH/SR.Not sure about the guys with the RAF merlin but you could always join a Harrier squadron to work with crabs.Go see the guys in the RDCA and say you want to volunteer.

Airy-Fairy: If you've got access to the MOD intranet go into the RN section. Click on 'Personnel Matters (Service)' and there is a section for 'RN/RM Jobs'. This opens a spreadsheet for all posts available; just use the 'pull-down' menu to select the appropriate rank/rate and you'l see what positions are avaialable to the various branches.
  4. I dit i heard was due to the aquisition of 6 new merlins pinched of the danish the new squadron to be formed under RAF colours was to be manned 50/50 by RAF/RN personnel. You wont find ant job PQ numbers for this or what ever they are called nowadays (JPA) as strangely it is being kept very quiet by the powers that be. :thumright:
  5. Can`t you ask drafty anymore?
  6. yip thats what Regional drafting careers advisor are for (rdca) every base has one but for some reason people seem scared or too lazy to go and actually visit them.Yes there are currently people drafted to Raf Benson(to help with shortage of crabs) and some who probably do not wish to be there so if your intrested go to rcda and ask if anyone wants a swap draft.
