Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. ive been looking everywhere to see what belongings each submariner can take on a submarine. Im applying for Warefare Specialist.

i know its probably a silly question but would i be able to take my ipod and guitar on a submarine, even one if it is this size (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqiankvqgYk&feature=related) just because ive been playing guitar pretty intensely for couple of years now and dont want to throw it all away.

  2. iPod yes, guitar doubtful. Probably end up wrapped round your head plus nowhere to stow safely
  3.   Can't stop laughing long enough to breathe!
  4. Guessing thats a no then haha :p

    Thanks for ya help.
  5. As Polto will confirm, I had snags getting my grand piano down the hatch once
  6. Hmmm - just checked your linky...

Interesting. Provided you can find a suitable stowage (of which there will be several) I reckon you could take that to sea. Plus it'll be a good party trick if you are any good. 8)
  7. if you find somewhere to stow it safely and the guy in charge of the compartments happy, you could bring yer guitar mate.
  8. Get on board, get yourself acquainted with everything, get your Part three passed then take your guitar on board. Cos you'll not have enough time for the first couple of months whilst doing your part three to pluck or strum 'yer geetar'
  9. certainly not his dohby bag!!!!!!!!
  10. Jeeeez....

Why do you fcucking bother posting

    and it's DHOBY....nobber
  11. YES, you can take your guitar to sea on a submarine, there should be plenty of room to stow it (make sure it is in case). A mate of mine took his on all the boats he was on, usually stowed it in the fore ends, even the supply officer took his on the valiant, used to play it at church in junior rates mess on a sunday, find a spot that is ok to stow it though, before you take it aboard..."Deep down you know it makes sense"!!
