You have two minutes to smash out your push-ups and sit-ups, and can take a rest during your time. If you are struggling try 25 p-ups, stop and shake out your arms, and knock another 25 out. Easy.

I see, i hope i am not expected to bash out 50 to stay in contention!

Might be different in the Navy but if you are younger than 30 I think you need to do 44 p-ups and 50 sit-ups by the time you pass out.

Of course, thats right im aiming for much higher anyway. I think i have a touch of paranoia about never reaching what i want. But im doing them all the time so it should come nicely by that time.

Thanks for the help.

Depends on the age, but 18-24(25?) is 23 press ups and 40 sit ups I believe.

EDIT:
It's 39.

Ahh thats helpful. So is JJ's post still relevant for being able to acheive 44 p-ups and 50 sit-ups upon passing out?
Negative. You will do your PT B in week 5 and as well as the figures quoted by Zoidberg you have to sprint 7 lengths of the gym in 59 secs. For the females the sprint time is 72 secs. The test stops at a max of 60 sit ups and 40 p-ups.

I don't think so mate; looks like the standards are different for the army. Just smash out p-ups whenever you get a minute to spare. 100 a day in whatever combination you can manage is a good start.

There are many ways to monitor your progress, but I would suggest that your approach is not particularly inspiring.

Try 3km without stopping, at a pace you can manage. Get used to going a little further than you need to.

I wouldn't focus on time. You've not long left til the test. Just keep pounding out the miles. Have a rest day on the day before so your legs are fresh for the test.

I would start now. It will give you some sense of having a reserve. I would even go so far as to suggest that the next time you do your 2.4 should be on the day. Some may disagree, and I would be interested to hear what the others think. Have you read the thread on treadmills I wrote? I mentioned it on my first reply in this thread. Give it a go, it may help.
