I apologise if I'm posting this in the wrong thread I'm a very new member, this question is for a college assignment.
Hello engineers and personnel that work on submarines and naval architecture. I'm having a hard time finding how many degrees of movement stern rudders have whilst in operation. From my understanding naval design and fluid dynamics state that stern rudders are most effective between +35/-35 degrees of movement however I found this info on US naval sites and I'm not sure if this is translates to the British navy as well.
TL
R Do stern rudders only move between +35/-35 degrees whilst in operation?
if the information isn't allowed for the general public I understand, thank you in advance.
