During my phase 1 training, would it be possible to keep either a push bike (Or a car, even) on site?

I don't know if that's a stupid question or not.

That's handy to know, no one will drive my car if I leave it here, tax/insurance are paid for, so I might as well bring it and use the blooming thing.

I don't think you'll have much chance to use your car pal, as far as I remember we only got 4 hours leave one night in week 8 (eight of ten as it was then), and even that was 'forced fun'.
Although that was 10+ years ago. I know you get leave now if your basic straddles one of the main leave periods (Xmas/Easter/summer) but don't be under the impression that you can leave Raleigh during the evening or weekends, you'll be far too busy :)

Fcuk me what are we recruiting aaaaaaagh take a pushbike, it will make you see sense on the the long peddle back home, btw if you eventually pass out and deploy you could always ask the friendly SMR if you could leave your car in the hanger and leave the cab out on the flightdeck most of them are quite accommodating

Own cabin, do what you want evenings and weekends, use of LH's bar, and no saluting. Oh and no compulsory PT.

Yes. Next question?
Right, next question.

Should I bring a car to Rayleigh? Do any of the current cadets have one (etc)? any other associated costs I might not of thought about?

It's a second car, so I'm either selling it before stage 1 training of afterwards, just trying to make my mind up which.

No idea where Rayleigh is.

RFA trainees not cadets!

Depends what you have thought about so far.

What will you do with it when you are away for 4 months at a time?

I can see you being a real help at sea.

"Help, help! I'm drowning!"

"No, you are struggling to swim, the drowning process doesn't start until you've inhaled water"

"elp - eeellppp-

"Sorry, I don't know what "elp" is?

"blurubrughgurh"

"See, now your drowning".

up to you if you want to bring your car. quicker way to get home, but if you want to go home then the RFA will pay for it.
