  1. ok guys,
im going in the RN as an AET,
im plannin to stay in this branch for a long time, atleast 10 years.
But what i think i would like to do is to move to beingan observer.
    is this viable?
    i have already got 2 A's 5B's and 6 C's, and 3 a-levels, (c in biology, c in geography and c in chemistry)
i was thinking of going in as an officer, but i think it would be better for me to go in as a rating.
Anyway, could i apply to be an observer after a long career as an AET??
    Cheers guys

  2. Think you are mighty confused oldboy!!! if you want to be an Observer, join as an officer at BRNC, if you have the required Qualifacations??? Their are not many grubbers, that aspire to Pilots/Observers at a later stage in their career. many are Hangar Pilots though

  3. I am with Scouse on this one. If you can make the grade as an hoccifer then join as one, much easier than trying to become one after a few years on the lower deck. if you want to be an observer then make sure that your maths is up to scratch, the observer is the intelligent one in the cockpit :p

  4. Why would it be better for you to go in as a Rating?

  5.  Thats why Pontius flew single seaters
