psychometric test

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Unfortunately I failed my psychometric test, mainly on the maths last week -passed for ratings etc, but didn't hit the mark for officer. Am still quite gutted and even more gutted for the wait to retake. I was wondering to hit the 6month retake, what evidence/level of tuition/course do you need?

I was also wondering could I reapply for RNR straight away and then swap over during the application process?

You just need a letter from a teacher/tutor to prove you have undergone formal tuition since the first test.

There's little point joining the RNR for six months if you intend leaving to join the regular service after passing the recruit test at the required standard. Nothing stopping you, but no benefit to the RNR and limited advantage to be gained.
