After a few months waiting I finally reached the day of my psychometric test and interview and they were both today.
Im really chuffed to say I PAST the RT and an hour later came back for my interview and past that aswell. Being 16 and this being my first interview and test for something like this Id definitely say it's one of the proudest days of my life.
Anyways just letting anyone who's got this process coming up, don't worry about the RT just do some practice (hours a day is not necessary and if you're the smarter kind Id say you don't even need revision but revise anyway) it is the same concept as the examples you get but with different numbers and situations.
Don't get too over confident though as you can fail, there was 9 of us and 2 failed, so it is possible.
The interview is as pretty much everyone says, just to get to know you but don't forget it's still an interview of sorts so treat it as one, be honest no matter what I said they seemed to be very understanding and reassured me throughout it.
Make sure you know a couple of the ships, the naval bases, your contract, what you do at the PRNC, where your phase 1 training is aswell as your phase 2 training, and if you haven't already make sure you know the drugs policy as I was asked the terms the navy have on it.
That's all my advice and good luck to anyone at this stage !
*EDIT*
Just got back from my medical and that went well, all passed and only took half hour.
First thing you do is they give you a little cup send you into the bathroom to urinate for a urine sample ofcourse (guessing it's a drug test/any health problem check) then they will test your ears to make sure you can blow them if they're clogged and a beep test, have a quick look at your mouth, make you do a couple pushups and some funny walks, have a look at your blood pressure and check your breathing, blow into an asthma tester. Weigh you and measssure you and finally a simple eye test like no other (Reading letters off a wall and a color blind test).
All very easy and straight forward nothing to worry about.
MAKE SURE YOU BRING PHOTO ID (passport for example)
PJFT Friday, Will update on how that works.
Any questions throw them in!
*UPDATE*
Just passed PJFT today. Walk in waited for the PT to come out she/he takes you into the office to measure weigh and take your blood pressure you sign the paper and off you go to the treadmill.
Your blood pressure needs to be below 140 or they do not let you take the test.
My tips are make sure you have a practice on a treadmill before you get there as this was my first time on a treadmill and it was very strange.. but you get used to it.
Best of luck to everyone !
