Not sure where to post this but it's historical anyway.

Last week we had an English lady stay at our B&B in France. We got talking Military stuff over a few glasses of red and then she told me that she and her hubby had bought an ex Royal Navy boat that they are having restored.
It's a 'Fairmile B' Rescue Motor Launch. To my amazement, she said that she was buying two sets of Oerlikons from the MOD to refit them on the boat. She said they were in working order but had to be de-commissioned. Fair enough!
They are going to be hiring it out on trips around the Normandy beaches when it's finished, then will be gifting it to a charity. H4H if I remember right.
