I just did mine. On the acquaint you only have to pass the swimming aspect with out overalls (pass/fail - still can be sent home) . If you pass that you go on to do the military swim test with *treading water and overalls. It does not matter if you fail that.

i did mine last mon-thursday and you only had to pass it in trunks, but then had the chance to try it in overals and the 3m jump.... but didnt have to pass that this time, but you will at basic, if that makes sense

It's good, I had mine in December. The swim test is not a test of fitness, just swimming ability. Nobody in our group took over 2 mins. The military swim in overalls is quite hard, however all but 2 of our group managed it, so should be fine. It's a great lead up to Raleigh tho and gets you in the mindset. Where you going, Collingwood or Caledonia?

Just a "heads-up" with regard the swimming element on PRNC - a large number (about 20%) arrive unable to reach the standard required to pass the swimming test at HMS Raleigh.

For those waiting to join the service - don't underestimate the swimming element of your physical preparations!
