Printer Problems

Welcome to the Navy Net aka Rum Ration

The UK's largest and busiest UNofficial RN website.

The heart of the site is the forum area, including:

  1. Does anyone know where I can get hold of a full service manual for a HP ColorLaserJet 4550N?

A bit 'dropped off' (honest!!) when one of the toner cartridges was being changed, and nobody knows where to put it back!

The result is that the cyan 'bleeds' all over everything.

If anyone knows anything about this little black springy thingy, I would be extremely grateful ( not that one, you perv! - Kerist! I've been associating with you lot for too long!).
Seriously, though. The printer was donated to a very small local charity, and they don't have a lot of cash behind them.

I look forward to your comments. :thanks:

  2. Have you looked here shipmate ?

  3. Or perhaps here, although its in 29 parts!
  4. Many thanks for that. I have downloaded all 29 parts, and am now trying to figure out how to extract files with *.RAR ext'n. :frustrated:

I have to admit that it's a new one on me - and I've only been using computers since 1969!

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Have a good weekend. :thumright:

  5. Rar is just a compressed file extention.

WinRar is the program, and very good it is too, it will unzip any type of compressed file.
  6. Thanks Muckers - I've downloaded and unzipped.

Still can't find where that bloody black springy thingy came from.

Everything pionts towards a faulty HP cartridge ... unless it's that little black thing that's causing the problems.

  7. Many thanks to everone for their advice. Problem now seems sorted.

    My round?
