Prepaid cash card or travellers cheques?

#1
:-| Off to Canada and Alaska next month. Not been abroard for a couple of years since the credit crunch. We've been informed that travellers cheques are redundant and prepaid cash cards are the way to go. Anybody used these cards, or know if they are broardly accepted
in Canada and the States in bars eating places etc and are there A.T.M.s available? Advice please.:slow:

I have always taken cash and a couple of credit cards Jesse. I've not tried pre-paid cards but I think they would probably be fine.

You generally find most hotels in Canada and Alaska will have a safe in the room to keep some of your cash. Don't rely on it if it has a keypad/digital lock and only use it if it has a good key.
