Pre-entry Medical Manchester location? Cancer?

Hi! Can anyone tell me where exactly they had their medical please? With an address or contact number? (Respectfully please not some generic Capita number thanks)

I’m wondering if anyone can tell me where abouts in Greater Manchester they’ve had a pre-joining medical during 2020 please?

My son is hoping to commission via the A-Level Scholarship Scheme - but is a cancer survivor.

RN Eligibility & Guidance Notes which state:
“Most cancers are considered to place an applicant below the medical entry standard. Exceptions: some cancers in childhood or early adult life that have been successfully treated and are regarded as cured.”

So we think he should be ok. But would like to pay for a private consultation with a registered MoD Physician before he goes through the full shebang.

i think if he was going to fail it would be far better to know now... than down the line after months of preparation & increased focus.

The face to face medical is usually conducted at a local GP practice or private doctors practice closest to the applicants address. This means that no specific number can be provided unfortunately. I’m sure if you call capita/AFCO, you could find out which GP is registered to conduct medicals. @soleil @Ninja_Stoker ?

ive checked all the up to date JSP’s and he’ll defo get referred for investigation but should pass as P2 I think

I did mine in Southport (I live in Manchester). I did all the usual tests and then my application got sent to the RN for final sign off by a naval doctor. This was due to my laser eye surgery, even though this was signed off pre-face to face during the paperwork stage.

I imagine this would be the case here too? The Doctor does standard medical physical checks then passes back to navy for other/previous health issues and final signature? Could be wrong but hopefully may save you some money before you pay for a medical!
