For those of us ignorami around, could someone please explain what a fin entry is? I'm assuming that is is entering the submarine via the fin while under way, but could someone please give more details?

Thank you very much, that clears it up. I was just wondering out of idle curiosity, and no more. Presumably there was a method of un flooding the torpedo tubes without fireing them in order to get them fully in, or did hey just close the bow caps and mop up afterwards?

Is unflooding a tube the same as draining one, just curious.

The water is compressed by a ram and pumped into a tank over the tube, this is called squeezing up

Simple after many years training those that are trained can catch a big black thing in the dead of night and slip into a big black smelly wet hole, with no trace of them being there in the first place. Commonly followed by the cry! is it in yet?
