Political humour, satire, memes etc. Not serious stuff

My company have just moved our pension scheme to another provider
The company involved gave us a welcome presentation and part of their brief was they don't invest in Defence companies- all my office's reaction was why not considering current events !!
It may have been good if your company briefed this prior to transfer of your pensions. I reckon most of you would have told them where to go.

The provider should be working to make your money work for you, not virtue signaling.

On another note, I have BAE shares and war is good!!

I have some of those, they gave them out at pay rise time, yours if you completed five years if not you had to sell if you left.

The change of provider was on the recommend of our scheme trustees after 'consultation' with all scheme members.

It's a pointless vote at the best of times.
If they'd voted for a ceasefire would the Israelis and Hamas both say "bugger, the British opposition party have voted for a ceasefire, that's our war finished and we haven't won yet"
It was put forward by the SNP, their new leader has family in Gaza, who would have thought it a self serving politician, and an SNP shite stirring in Westminster.
On the other hand, shows just how wobbly the Labour party are, Stramer may have also upset his Scottish vote, I think history shows labour have never won an election without a majority Scottish vote.

I heard that they sold their place near Haybrook bay and moved to Jersey a few years ago, I thought you had to be a resident of Jersey for about 20 years to own property there?
It is always said the best way to dodge tax is to be loaded, and play the system.
One of the big bands, may be U2 avoid tax by not staying in one country long enough to pay taxes, even when on a States tour, they would stay in Canada and fly down for gigs, literary counting the hours, if you did less than 24hours it wasn't counted

Jersey's housing law has changed a lot over the last few years. You used to be able to become a resident under category 1(1)(k) of the Housing (Jersey) Law if you bought a home worth at least £1million and agreed to pay at least £150K a year in tax, but I have no idea what the current requirements are. I know there has been recent debate about changing the requirements, but I can't remember the details.

150k per year? That's tea boat money to the affluent set.

Happy to help.

I think paying £150k in tax would be no problem

He started life as a Market Trader, one of his calls was Dorchester, His Range store in Dorchester is adjacent to the Market.

How does anyone live in three places at once?
Listed as "country of residence" =
UK, Jersey and Monaco.
I live in one place at once, unless I move house, then I live in another place......once.
Legal eagle - do your stuff.
It's all really rather confusing.

(Anyway, they're off on their 'olidays at the minute. Can't say I blame them. It's cool and wettish in Blighty)

He went to the local a school in Plymouth, they said he would never be anything in life, he had a barrow on the open market in Plymouth until it was closed to make way for a car-park and Toys R Us, his first store is half a mile from my home i sold last year, an old garage, for years it still had oil stained hand prints on the wall, my youngest went to school with his son.
